“I’ve tried different diets over the years and when I hit 40 I was the biggest I had ever been. I saw a photo of myself on holiday which was taken on my 40th and I decided I didn’t want to be fat and forty. So with Wendy’s help and guidance I started on the road of changing my eating habits and exercise routine. I detoxed to get my system on an even keel – no caffeine, no sugar, no wheat, no dairy & no alcohol (gulp!). The first few days I was a right grumpy mare, lethargic with constant headaches. But don’t worry this does pass – it’s just the badness getting out if your system! During your first exercise class you’ll probably think ‘OMG what on earth have I let myself in for’ but again, don’t panic! It will be hard but rewarding. You WILL feel a sense of achievement post workout (whilst sweating profusely and probably hurting slightly!). I achieved my goals within the first 4 months of making this change and have maintained since then. I don’t panic if I have a bar of chocolate or a glass if wine. What you also need to do is get out if habit of weighing yourself. It’s not about weight loss but inch loss and how you feel about yourself. I am exactly the same weight I was a year ago but have lost 27″, dropped 2 dress sizes and totally changed body shape. So I would recommend you ditch the scales, take piccies of how you look now (as much as you may hate this it really does help) and measure yourself.
This is a mindset change aswell as a lifestyle change. You’ve done the hardest bit – you’ve made the decision to make a change. Once you start to see results (which you will) whether it be inch loss, an improvement in your fitness or even just feeling better as a whole I guarantee you won’t want to go back to your old lifestyle.
Wendy is one of the best fitness mentors I have ever had the pleasure to know. She will be with you every step of the way and has encouraged and kept me motivated throughout (and it hasn’t always been easy). You are in the BEST hands to help you through this!
